Brinx Cafe: Downtown Torrington's Wine Bar That Does Everything the Right Way

There are bars and then there are places. Brinx Cafe in downtown Torrington is a place.

It has been part of the Torrington community for a long time and that longevity is not an accident. Owner Jess has built something that most wine bars never figure out: a space that feels genuinely local because it genuinely is. Every syrup used for flavored drinks is made from scratch in house. The wines are sourced locally. A lot of the ingredients are too. This is not a bar that is going through the motions.

The experience is held together by Dante behind the bar, who does exactly what a great bartender is supposed to do and takes care of the people in front of him. Whether you are a regular or walking in for the first time, you are going to feel taken care of.

Beyond the bar there is a small dining room where people come to sit, play games, share a bottle, and actually catch up with each other the way people used to before everyone was staring at their phones. It is the kind of environment that is increasingly hard to find and worth going out of your way for.
