I had the opportunity to stop into Love It Vegan in Torrington and meet the owner, and her smile genuinely never left her face the entire time we were there.
You could tell right away how excited she is to be part of this community. The second we walked in she gave us a big warm greeting and lit up talking about how she became the owner of Love It Vegan, her history with Torrington, and why this town means so much to her. That kind of energy is contagious, and it tells you everything about why this place has built such a loyal following.
A Menu That Breaks the Vegan Stereotype
The first thing that caught me off guard when I looked over the menu was how normal everything sounded. Omelettes. Burgers. Mac and cheese. I had always assumed vegan automatically meant something unfamiliar, but the owner explained that everything is named the way you'd expect to see it on any menu, on purpose, so it is instantly recognizable to anyone walking in the door.
What impressed me even more was discovering that the food actually lives up to the name. Everything tastes exactly like what you'd expect, even though there's no meat or dairy anywhere in sight.

I got to try the mac and cheese at the Torrington Restaurant Week kickoff event, hosted by Torrington Downtown Partners at Bad Dog Brewing, and it was out of this world. Genuinely indistinguishable from traditional mac and cheese. If you came in blind you would never know the difference.
